The HEAR

The Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR) was an initiative to record the soft skills and transferable skills students develop at UK universities. Hired as an independent producer, I worked with the HEAR team to devise a concept based on the achievements you unlock playing video games. I then designed original characters and backdrops in a pixel-art style.

I animated the film using Aseprite, with compositing done in After Effects. I also composed a chiptune melody in FL Studio to support the 16-bit aesthetic.

The resulting explainer received over 51,000 views and helped to promote the HEAR initiative to students and institutions.
