Brush DJ makes it fun.

Created by dentist Ben Underwood, the Brush DJ app plays your music library on shuffle while you brush your teeth.

Rushing your brushing (sorry) leads to poor hygiene, and it’s easy to kid yourself that you’ve cleaned your teeth for the recommended two minutes. Brush DJ is an ingenious solution for children and adults.

I produced, wrote, and animated the original promos for the app, designed the Brush DJ character and created some in-app instructional content to help users get the best out of a regular toothbrush, dental floss, and interdental brushes. Distant Future animation studio collaborated with me on the dental floss video.

The app is used in over 47 countries and is part of the NHS’s Health Apps library. It’s been featured on BBC Click. In 2015 it was on display in the London Design Museum’s health tech exhibit.
