Blue Zoo’s AI Manifesto is a thoughtful approach to Gen-AI in creative businesses
How should creative businesses handle Gen-AI in an ethical way? Blue Zoo, a leading UK animation studio, published an AI manifesto this month that prioritises human satisfaction with work and its outputs, creative integrity, information security, energy use, and adapting as things change.
I’ve looked forward to learning about their internal response to Gen-AI ever since their co-founder, Tom Box, wrote the blog post, ‘AI at Annecy – the discussion that never happened’, after the 2023 edition of Annecy, an annual animation festival and crucial marketplace in France.
I was also lucky to collaborate as a motion designer on a multi-agency project last year which included Blue Zoo. They’re known for business operations of a high standard, and I’m pleased they’re innovating thoughtfully in this space and using their comms to lead on this.
The manifesto is well worth a read.
