Celebrating St David’s Day with Illustration, Nostalgia, and a Snack Machine

Also the snack machine in Carmarthen Leisure Centre, which was my favourite thing after swimming lessons as a kid.

I’m half Polish, half Welsh, and grew up in Wales. So I have core memories of the big day. I still remember how bemused we were, in year one primary school, ushered into assembly to watch an older boy no-context clog dance over a candle with a broom.

But then we all got Welsh cakes, a delicious win!
